flatsville - I have not heard any cases in which governmental organizations and large firms use the PC in their mission critical systems. Most of the Japanese organizations do not fully automate various interfaces as seamlessly as the Western firms have done. Correct. There are signficant barriers to widespread use of western keyboards in Japan... like three alphabets! Back at the dawn of Y2Ktime I was a tool vendor... a Japanese market modification for our online mainframe tool was to provide a batch interface and spiffy printed reports. Seems that their programmers were not accustomed to working with terminals! - David
