Eric L: Decision on WCOM is easy -- SELL IT!! WCOM is paying a hefty premium and taking on extraordinary debt. Even worse, it is changing its focus from a high-flying telecom company focused on the internet and high-speed data telecom (with its fat profit margins) and taking on a low-profit, low margin long-distance telephone co. to get wireless Sprint PCS. This deal is the exact duplicate of what Quest did when it merged with US Worst (er, West). Lindy Bill hit the nail on the head -- WCOM is no longer one of the vanguard telecom companies; it is now a utility.
