What did Jesus think about his Jewish heritage that he inherited from his Jewish mother Mary? Did Jesus teach Jews to glory in their Jewishness, or did he teach them to glory rather in doing the will of God?
Luke 11 "27": And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
"28": But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
He taught the Jews to find blessedness in doing the will of God as Mary had done. It's in obedience to God in accepting his divine Son as their Lord and Saviour that men are blessed, and not in glorying in their race and ethnicity. Mary did the will of God and she was blessed with being the mother of the Son of God and of the very God Himself.
Luke 1 "38": And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
You, the Messianics and the Zionist Christians want to point to the flesh of Mary, but Jesus points to His divinity and the will of God. |
