Do you have a PCLN position?

Glenn,
I don't like to post my positions publicly, but let's just say I'm a lot less impressed by PCLN's business model. First of all, they overstate revenue by using the ticket's full price. Travel agents only use their commission costs as their revenue.

How many items will their business model work on, and how big are the markets? Priceline benefits a lot from their rebates whereby consumers sign up for a credit card when they make an offer for a ticket. Why can't Preview Travel offer this kind of marketing tie in? Wouldn't you rather choose which flight you get a good deal on, instead of getting a good deal without any control over the flight/number of stops/departure times/etc.? How many industries have goods that lose all of their value if they aren't sold by a certain date? How many airline seats are airlines willing to sell using the Priceline model? Are you concerned that the original company that was marketing credit cards on Priceline.com canceled their contract, and that Priceline had to renegotiate with another company? I have lots of other questions about Priceline, but this is enough for now.

Craig
