It seems that many commercial RTOS’s began life on the Motorola 68K embedded processors, and VxWorks is no exception. It is not surprising that Motorola, or whoever built the board you referred to, used VxWorks. Nevertheless, Motorola does not own VxWorks or WIND. However, Motorola does own 10% or so of MWAR (bought by Motorola’s wireless pager group).

In my opinion WIND may or may not be a good short-term ride. Apparently your broker can interpret the mysteries of chart reading, where I lack that talent. What is certain is that WIND is a good mid- to long-term investment. So is MWAR.
