What I was hoping to stimulate, when I published the technical details of the design enhancements incorporated into Coppermine, was some discussion by the "architecture thingy" types on what this may mean in terms of performance.

Unfortunately, a lot of the thread contributors on the subject are at the conference, so evidently we have to wait.

My interpretation of a main message to be garnered on what Intel was to present on the subject was that Coppermine is much more than just a bolt-on cache. The "bolt-on" theme is something that I've seen as a point of seemingly endless speculation over the last several months.
