First Boston upgrades HAL from hold to buy (cnbc).

For any candlestick lovers, check out the sticks yesterday for several issues: BHI, CAM, ESV, GLM, SII to name a few. All bullish hammers on very strong volume (only moderately strong volume for CAM).

Hammers following an extended move down, particularly on exceptional volume, often mark a reversal in trend -- the sellers capitulate and dump shares taking the stock price down at first, then buyers show strong support by absorbing those shares and taking the stock price back up by the close.

At the very least, there were some big buyers in the big names yesterday.
