Euphonix System 5 Success at AES Show

New Orders Continue Digital Mixing Console

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Euphonix Inc. (Nasdaq: EUPH), manufacturer of high end professional audio equipment enjoyed enormous success after unveiling their new System 5, a large format digital console at this year's Audio Engineering Society Convention, the industry's largest tradeshow, held last week in New York City.

"From the moment that the doors opened on Friday, until 15 minutes after the show closed on Monday, our tradeshow booth was swamped with wave after wave of enthusiastic qualified buyers," said Piers Plaskitt, Euphonix President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.

Prior to the show's opening Euphonix had already sold a total of eight System 5 consoles in all three segments of the audio market place -- music recording, post-production and ON-AIR broadcast. During the show, engineers, producers and artists were introduced to the company's integrated System 5 console and R-1 multi-tracker recorder that offers the industry's first 24-bit, 96kHz studio package.

Behind the scenes, two additional orders were placed for the new digital console. Los Angeles-based, post-production facility, Intersound, placed an order for a 32 fader post system and LDS Motion Picture Studio, already a longtime Euphonix customer, ordered a System 5 for surround sound mixing of feature films.

Continued interested was also garnered for the CS Series digitally controlled analog mixing system which was also being demonstrated on the tradeshow floor. Announced at the show were two CS3000 console sales to New York's Sound Lounge and Chicago-based post house Avenue Edit.

"The CS3000 is ideal for the facility that needs the power of digital control but doesn't necessarily require a 96K digital engine," said Dave Christenson, Director of International Sales. "With over 500 consoles installed worldwide, the CS3000 remains at the core of Euphonix's success."

Euphonix spent three years developing System 5 to provide a substantial feature increase over existing high-end analog consoles, and provided a familiar user-friendly operating interface. System 5 is designed to fulfill digital audio requirements brought on by the music industry's transition to digital multi-channel sound for DVD-audio, the film industry's Dolby Digital(TM) and DTS formats, and the television industry's transition from analog to digital broadcast. System 5 is a highly modular, scalable system with prices starting at $250,000.

Based in Palo Alto, California, Euphonix, Inc., develops, manufactures and supports the most innovative, user-oriented, high value digital audio production products for music, film & TV post-production, broadcast, sound reinforcement and multimedia applications. Euphonix products enable professional artists, producers, and engineers, to be more productive and creative than ever before.
