Steve,
What were the reasons for MTSN going from 12 to 15 in the first place?
If it was a mention by some kid in his internet newsletter, then IMO, it's unrealistic to expect the rise to stick.
As I've pointed out many times before, MTSN is a microcap. It just doesn't take as much money either coming in or going out to make a major % move in MTSN. Now that the volume is well in excess of 100,000 daily, it takes a little more but not that much. i.e. - Average daily trading cumulative dollars now come close to $2M, close but not quite there.
Compare that with AMAT.
I believe that MTSN has developed a superiour set of products during the downturn. I further believe that these products have been placed in several of the leading chipmakers for evaluation purposes. And I also believe that MTSN will get more than its fair share of wins as the leading chipmakers move to new processes. (e.g. - Reduced feature sizes, Cu processing and / or 300MM.)
As long as the evidence continues to support those beliefs, I don't give a hoot about TA. And if that hurts Phil's feelings, too bad. I'm not going to become a TA fanatic at the expense of my financial wellbeing just to satisfy the TA fanatics that their art is really the most important thing in investing. It's not. It never will be. It's merely 1 minor tool out of many which should be in one's kit bag.
And if you have rules about cutting your losses that have served you well, I'm not here to give anyone investment advice. Gather whatever information is important to you. Then make whatever decision you deem appropriate.
Good luck, Ian. |
