EDONA Announces Strategic Relationship With Oracle Corp. for Data Visualization Capabilities; SEDONA to Make Visualization Components Available for Oracle CRM 11i

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 1999--SEDONA Corporation (Nasdaq: SDNA) today announced that they plan to make their geographic visualization capabilities available for the upcoming Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 11i Applications suite. SEDONA's new Java visualization product, visualCRM(TM), is intended to be offered with Oracle Marketing to deliver critical business intelligence features for operational and analytical functions such as campaign management. SEDONA plans to provide a series of visualization components to enhance the Oracle suite of applications.

"Making timely and effective decisions based on vast amounts of information is a key challenge for today's executives. Oracle's CRM solution is planned to be enhanced with SEDONA's visualization capabilities, allowing easily understood pictures to represent critical data," said Carl Theobald, vice president, Oracle CRM Products Division. "Our collaboration with SEDONA is another example of our efforts to lead the CRM market into new directions with innovative capabilities that will help companies to become more competitive."

Oracle is the only enterprise applications vendor to offer a complete CRM solution that provides analytical visualization of marketing data. According to Mark Smith, Program Director at MetaGroup Inc., "Visualization of complex data enables CRM users to identify the critical elements shaping business performance. The planned integration of Sedona's products with Oracle CRM can help improve customer return on information."

"Oracle's commitment to Internet Platforms and CRM are clearly the objectives that have brought this partnership to fruition," said Colin Matthews, President of Sedona GeoServices. Mr. Matthews added that, "The commitment Oracle has made to support visualization features in Oracle CRM 11i will bring more analytical intelligence to corporate executives."

Through data visualization, decision makers can visualize and characterize customer relationships and customer churn patterns over time. Relationships between how much a customer is billed, types of services, call types, length of relationship, payment status and other key factors can be quickly analyzed leading to drill downs for further querying if desirable. Complex marketing campaigns, histories, responses in a variety market segments can be easily displayed and understood using visualization and map backgrounds. For example, in an effort to achieve closed loop marketing, managers need to analyze past campaigns, market drivers, and create new targeted campaigns to gain revenue.

These campaign programs become clearest when seen and represented with geographic map backgrounds to accurately plan new marketing campaigns.

Oracle and SEDONA plan to provide development engineering support for integration and testing and pursue joint marketing, sales force training and customer opportunities.
