There are other FPD plays. The CEO is about to join the board of Applied Films (AFCO), which has about the same number of employees, shareholders' equity, and revenues as Photon Dynamics. Vincent Sollitto, Jr. has been nominated as a director of the Company for a term beginning October 1999. Mr Sollitto has been the Chief Executive Officer since June 1996 and a member of the Board of Directors since July 1996 at Photon Dynamics, Inc. From August 1993 to 1996, Mr. Sollitto was the General Manager of Business Unit Operations for Fujitsu Microelectronics, Inc. From April 1991 to August 1993, he was the Executive Vice President of Technical Operations at Supercomputer Systems, Incorporated. Mr. Sollitto spent 21 years in various positions, including Director of Technology and Process at International Business Machines Corporation, before joining Supercomputer Systems, Incorporated. Mr. Sollitto serves as a director of Irvine Sensors Corp. Mr. Sollitto is a graduate of Tufts College where he received a B.S.E.E. in 1970. The AFCO stock price hasn't yet recovered from the Asian crisis because they haven't sold any equipment, but their FPD coating business is booming along with the rest of the industry. Equipment sales will come in about 6 months and the stock is likely to rise sharply at that time. Another FPD play is Three-Five Systems (TFS). Their stock price has boomed and they recently had a secondary offering. The prospectus is at sec.gov. Our Arizona headquarters includes the largest high-volume LCD manufacturing line in North America and a research and technology center dedicated to custom design engineering and development of advanced display technology.
