Data Broadcasting Corporation Unveils Multiple-User Real-Time Stock Market Investment Tool
Signal I-Net Delivers More Real-Time Financial Data to Professional Traders
SAN MATEO, Calif., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Broadcasting Corp , the leading provider of real-time market data to investors, today unveiled Signal(R) I-Net, a dynamic multiple-user service delivering real-time stock market data, news and analytics and a full range of historical and background information on thousands of companies through a single receiver over a company's PC network.
"Signal I-Net opens up an entirely new marketplace for DBC's desktop financial products that have traditionally served the individual investor," said Mark Imperiale, President/Chief Operating Officer of DBC. With Signal, we can sell into small and medium sized brokerage houses, corporate accounts, money managers and banks."
DBC has merged its existing high speed data delivery network with the latest Internet technology to create a powerful new tool for financial traders and professionals. This exclusive service is delivered over multiple platforms, including Data Broadcasting's proprietary broadcast networks, which transmit real-time trading information and news on more than 130,000 securities, 24 hours a day. Signal enables users to link seamlessly to the exclusive Signal Private Network (SPN) Internet site, which contains information on NASDAQ Bulletin Board stocks, a massive database of historical and fundamental data, charts, commentary, comprehensive research and business descriptions on thousands of public and private companies.
"We've been successfully running Signal I-Net on our company's Intranet" said Robert O'Donnell of Stires and Company. "Not only can we easily and efficiently follow our portfolios but being able to track our competitor's price and news in real time has been critical as it instantly alerts us to new market developments."
Signal I-Net provides subscribers with real-time market data and analysis as well as compatibility with several third party analysis software packages and receives data via an FM radio frequency, cable, or satellite receiver. Signal I-Net features a quote window that displays the user's choice of trading data for more than 130,000 issues traded on all major exchanges. Data is delivered to a single receiver on a company's Intranet and enables multiple users to set up and display custom scrolling tickers, watch news headlines that impact their individual portfolios, and be alerted to money-making trading opportunities with Signal's alert features. Live portfolio windows update the total value of portfolios in real-time.
Price and Availability
Signal I-Net enables traders and corporate users to take advantage of lower hardware startup costs and volume discounts on monthly subscription fees. The Signal I-Net client and Signal I-Net Server software is provided for free as part of the service. A real-time license for 10 users is priced at $1,000 per month and $75 for each additional user. A delayed license for 10 users is $350 and $25 for each additional user. The startup cost and cost of installation is greatly reduced by the need for only a single broadcast receiver connected to a server running Windows NT. Each Windows client connects to a server using the networking standard TCP/IP on either a Local Area Network (LAN), a Wide Area Network (WAN), or the Internet.
