Lee- Thanks for the reports....
Do (all, most, some) of the chip-makers run 24/7, or on a more limited work schedule (I would think the latter)...
If I am right, just SWAG, I would think that between inventory, overtime, and alternative suppliers...disruption to Dell's supply chain would be minimal (if at all)...Throw in the fact, that Dell is the biggest customer for many (or at least in the top 2/3)...Dell can throw its considerable weight around...Also, if competitors are affected (by the Taiwan problem, chip price increases) to a larger extent than Dell, could it possibly be perceived as a short-term advantage for Dell??
Also, I would find it hard to believe that Dell has not strategically planned for such things (quake, or similar disruptions), and even if the quake's damage was greater than (emergency) expected, I would think that (emergency) planning has minimized the problem...
Therefore, my theory remains, that most of the bad news is priced into the stock here (down from 49 just a few short weeks ago)...
I guess by tomorrow aft. we will know if I'm right or wrong.....BTW-More bulls coming out of the woodwork on CNBC....some technical "warm and fuzzies" popping up in last couple days... |
