I THINK disney quest is the indoor arcade stuff.

Yup, big building billed as a virtual theme park or somesuch.

I hear on cnbc (?) that Dis was closing 5 and canceling plans for another 100.

Can't be. DisneyQuest only has 2 locations, Orlando and Chicago (just opened in June). They have a third planned for summer 2000 in Philadelphia. I know there are more beyond that, but nothing with any kind of projected date. 5 and 100 just don't jive. Also, there is no mention of any closings on the DisneyQuest home page.

I have heard from a disney employee about a month ago, that they were tending to become "hangouts' and were not good for the image.

Now this I could believe. I knew they were doing good business, but I don't know if it was the type of business Disney wanted. My friends down there said that it was becoming common practice for parents to just drop their kids off all day because it was one price for the day, I believe (they keep changing the fee system). Both locals and tourists were doing this. I know Disney wanted it to be a vibrant, bustling place for tourists to visit, but I can easily see where today's teens with nothing better to do would just hang out and trash the place.

I'll ask my contacts down there since you brought it up. Let me know if you find something out. Thanks.

Jape
