going long or short about $100,000 worth of stock to make $2,000 does not make sense to me. in addition there are spreads and commissions to absorb.
as for 100 shares long term, my 100 yahoo (cost $10,000) now 400 worth about 72,000. same is true for my investments in dell, microsoft, cisco, general electric, sun microsystems, biogen, amgen, gemstar, vodaphone, jdsu uniphase, vitesse semiconductor... i could go on and on.
