This is wrong and the exact numbers are NOT disclosed, so don't believe any numbers you hear. Novonyx will port all of the Suitespot family of products to IntranetWare. Secondly, they will be integrated with existing Novell services to provide a seamless interface to communicator for both Netscape and Novell services. This has several advantages to stock holders. First, and most obviously is the direct revenue through Novell's ownership in the company. This is probably less important than the other reasons. The other reasons include: Cross platform houses can now manage ALL of their web servers with one centralized browser based management utility, i.e. they don't have to manage their UNIX based web servers with one utility, then use another for their PC Lans. This has forced some people to switch to NT since they can run Netscape servers on that and then manage homogenously. Many people are standardizing on Netscape services. IntranetWare will run them FAST, and will utilize NDS for advanced user/configuration management. This makes a better solution if you are running on IntranetWare or utilizing cross platform NDS. Another obvious win for Novell as a whole. Finally, people want Netscape web servers. This is causing them to put an NT box into an existing Novell network. This is BAD. We don't want MSFT getting a foot in the door this way. This stops that and shows that IntranetWare is a viable internet platform. You don't need NT servers! This is mindshare folks, and that affects stock prices more than anything else.... By the way, I do not work for Novonyx. I did this work as a Novell employee. The company is in the process of formation currently and I imagine the employees of the company will be announced soon. Until that time there are no official employees of Novonyx.
