re: USIS, I shorted at 10, now that it is around $3 it would cost me more to cover (~40% tax on the ~$7 gain = $2.80) than it does in margin to stay short (about $1.50 tied up in T-Bills).

Re: UAI tying up your margin, patience man, patience! Yours is the "curse" of ultimate success -- you'll get your near 100% return, so what even if it takes a year or two to earn it? Buffett grew rich at 25%/yr, Soros at 35%/yr. Your UAI short is doing better than either of these greats -- that temporarily inaccessible margin is more than earning its keep.

You should trade with an expensive full service broker like I do, it makes one reluctant to machine-gun trades.... a short never covered is a commission never paid... ;-)

(though looking at some of my trades, I sometimes wonder if I might be better off with an even *more* expensive broker...)
