I think the more important question is: does this technology fly at all? The use of incoherent fluorescent light sounds bogus to me. And to read multiple layers would (I think) require precise use of constructive and destructive interference, which would only be possible with lasers (I think). If this technology is sound, the company should provide a white paper that explains the fluorescent-light advantage.

IMO if this technology were sound, a company like IBM would have bought it up long before it got to the public demonstration stage -- particularly since C3D is apparently courting such attention.

On the other hand, I could be all wrong and this could be bigger than DVD ...
