The following just shows how far behind the competition Sigma really is:

FROM MPEGGED ON THE YAHOO THREAD

Let's do the math.

The Sigma codec card is $1000, OK $999.
The DVD-RAM drive is $700
The PC required costs $1000?
That's $2699.

Cube and Samsung are demo'ing a CONSUMER DVD Recorder.
It ain't a PC with an add in card.
It's something that goes into your entertainment center like a VCR.

Cube's Codec chips is something like $50.
Assume the DVD-RAM drive is the same $700.
The rest of the supporting pieces are what? $200? $500?

That's $950 - $1200

OK, let's be fair. You already have a PC so take out it's cost.
The Sigma solution is still $499 more, and it won't fit on top of your TV.

Did I miss something?
