The idea of a need for a new plant is based on the RUMORS of all the interest coming in for the Estalloy products, and then SPECULATION that so much demand will require new capacity sooner rather than later. The thought is that if someone like Ford makes a major commitment they will demand a guaranteed supply. In conversations with KK and DD they clearly expect demand to grow to the point of needing more capacity. Rumors from brokers (JP and others he talks to) have it that they have had talks with money and government people exploring the options for expansion, if and when the need arises. I don't think demand currently is increasing that fast for Xyloy (the lignin resins). Sorry if I was unclear about all this. And, to repeat, it is ONLY speculation at this point. I haven't inquired about the specifics of their production capacity for the components of the Estalloy product. BUT, long in the past, well before Estalloy, when discussing this issue, KK indicated a primary desire of theirs was to get a convenient rail site. I would guess this will be a high priority capital expense issue.

Other items: Remember the TV broadcast about InstaTrak? Well, apparently that got more play than I realized. According to DD, who now has a copy of the tape, it was broadcast 3 times and the story was also picked up in _USA Today_ and one other national publication. (This info from JP.)

On the issue of shares out. Also from DD via JP: there are still less than 5M shares outstanding and that number includes all convertible preferred. 2.05M are closely held by KK and his brother.

Lastly, I also inquired about the patent situation with the Estalloy product. Upshot, from DD via JP: patents are pending on the relevant parts of it.

FWIW.
