By selling scads of them to call option buyers...then keeping the stock's price down until the options expire worthless....they keep the money they made from the sale, and don't have to surrender the stock....after which they can release the downward pressure on the stock (for a brief while) and make a point or so profit before they sell more call options to the suckers on the next go around....on thinly traded stocks like NAVR it is rather easy for them to do it....they wouldn't dare try that on stocks like INTC, MSFT, IMNX, etc... just my opinion..
