DigitalMe????

Well my first experience with DigitalMe hasn't left me feeling very warm and fuzzy.

I signed up for the service during the pre-beta phase, but I never received any notification about the release, etc.

So I went back yesterday to register and login for the first time. Picked my DigitalMe card, added Scott and Peter to my contact list, etc.

I attempted to record my login at SI but three attempts failed. I recall someone mentioning that you have to exit your existing broswer and perhaps try Netscape. But I haven't done that. Why?

Before retiring last night I tried to login. One, two, three, four, five, six.....times. FAILED. All I got was that neutral "cannot connect" page.

So I went to bed.

This morning I tried logging in again. One, two, three, four, five, six....times. FAILED. Again, all I got was the "cannot connect" page.

On one occasion I got the message that my user login ID was not recognized.

I'm not going to go off the deep end with Gates et. al. on this one.

But I do have a list of hundreds of people in communities, forums and lists which I manage which I'd like to steer to this service.

So I will be patient on this one.

I did sent an email to corporate yesterday which was somewhat critically supportive of the DigitalMe rollout. I did mention that I felt that there was evidence that DigitalMe was not being positioned in the right way - to individuals vs. corporations.

Is someone reading an e-mail I targeted to one individual?

Slap me everyone.

Trust.

Trust?

Trust!

Hmmmmmm....

Peace.
