Alan, I agree with your points 100%. I don't think they are entering too late. I was left under the impression that they had been looking at this/planning it for sometime. At this stage I would worry a lot more about Ascend's entry then Westell. Ascend has the right thinking and too much of their future depends on chosing the right successor to ISDN. In my opinion the fact that they have picked ADSL shows that this company is worth all the support the investors have given them in the past.

This of course is very positive for ADSL in general and DMT in particular. I guess the bottom line is that those of us in these threads who have supported the ADSL/DMT technology were correct all along. We have picked the right solution. Now all we have to do is figure out who will get the lion's share in this space. I really don't think cable modems or wireless is a threat. ADSL/DMT will win and Amati will benefit. I am now trying to assess how the market will be divided among those that go with ADSL/DMT.
