Oh, and now that you are no longer voting your principles, the best candidate is surviving? Must have been dang awful back in '64 (grin). Come now, TD. I do not think any major shift in sentiment occurred post 1964 causing a significant number of folks to neglect their principles in order to vote for the lesser of two evils. I think in changing your manner of voting you simply began to vote (more often than previously) with the majority. Your vote in the larger scheme changed nothing. You changed, and it seems the change made you feel better. I think that is about all that happened. So then I find little difference between you and I. I am making the same change you made back in '64, but in reverse. For once, I will refuse to vote for anyone not sincerely embracing my basic values. In the big scheme it will matter not a bit. But I will feel better and hopefully I will influence others for whom such things matter, to do the same. (I must nevertheless add that I think I have the philosophical edge on you because I am at least voting truthfully).
