Good morning Gustave. Thank you for the cheerful reading material. I saw this on the newstand the other day and was reminded that an identical piece appeared in The New Yorker last year. I guess trotting this story out is a yearly ritual.

If Pius XII was a collaborator in the genocide of Jews, why did the Rabbi of Rome convert to the Faith after the war? He even took as his new name Eugenio, which was Pius' name before he became Pope.

Why does nobody ever talk about the Assisi underground, that network of churches, convents, and monasteries that was responsible for spiriting away hundreds of thousands of Jews?

I can understand why nobody wants to mention the fact that between Pius' and Franco's efforts over 800,000 Sephardim were saved. That fact is just too much for lefties to contemplate.
