OK. David I understand that you are short Oct 120 calls on AOL. You can do three things: 1)let the calls be exercised (they take the stock at 120 Oct 15th) 2) buy the calls back to close the position (eat the premium) 3)Close the position, sell November 125 or Nov 120

I would do choice 2 since I am very bullish on AOL

I have gotten burned writing covered calls on SUNW where the stock went to the "moon" and I was stuck within a range with a covered call.

Just remember that writing calls is always "bearish", that is, you think the stock will remain within a range or go down. If I am bullish I don't ever write any calls against underlying stock
