<i.Beyond.com CEO Mark Breier Talks to The Wall Street Transcript

NEW YORK, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wall Street Transcript has published an in-depth interview with Mark Breier, President and CEO of Beyond.com (Nasdaq: BYND), in which he talks at length about his company's future.

The entire 3,400 word interview is available free online at twst.com.

He says, "Beyond.com sells software and computer related products over the Internet. We sell to consumers, to corporations and to the U.S. Government. We sell software in two forms: the conventional shrink-wrapped box form; but probably more importantly, we sell it in a digital downloaded form that goes direct to your computer."

He asserts, "We've been leaders in pioneering the digital-download process. We call it 'download for dummies.' It's easy to follow and answers several questions consumers ask most: Where was something downloaded to? Which button do I push next? How do I get directly into the software program? And you'll continue to see us make exciting improvements in digital downloading."

He declares, "The advent of DSL and cable make software programs much easier to download. That will make the convenience of downloading software over the Internet even more compelling."

Looking forward, he states, "We're the undisputed brand leader in a category, which by all intuitive and analytical measures, is the best e-commerce category on the Internet. Every PC owner buys software. And software is unique because it can be downloaded. It's a worldwide category that is forecasted to be approximately $100 billion by 2002. As much as one third of it may be online. Our goal is to be the number one player in that online market."
