This is really a victory for the "others".

I think your inference is totally irrational: When AIDMK allied with BJP, it won massively. When DMK allied with BJP, it won splendidly. Thus, any regional party that is allied with BJP wins triumphantly. Even the Congress leaders (if BJP accepts them as allies) can win. Note, however, that the BJP will not give tickets to the corrupt, senile Congress politicians!!

There is a BJP phenomenon that has permeated the country. The BJP and the regional allies are simply representing this phenomenon that, as you have utterly missed, is pervasive all over the country. Look at Andhra where people have voted for a visionary information technology leader. Your claim that "illiterates" are not wise and intelligent is totally invalidated by the results because AP has one of the lowest literacy rates among states in India. BBC reports that the whole world was watching the results of AP where BJP/TDP have won 60% of votes this time as compared to 50% last time.

The phenomenon that is sweeping the country that you are bitterly unenthusiastic to accept is that the Indian juggernaut (I had earlier referred to) is very restive; it wants progress, elimination of corruption and of the pseudo dynastic, depraved culture that has been the lodestar of Congress politics. It is a good lesson for Congress to amend itself for the sake of India.

If you are smart, you should open your eyes and revise your beliefs. I doubt, however, that you ever will! <G>
