Glad you asked about the PC133 chipset. If you have not done so, take some time and check the posts back at the time of the Intel Developer's conference around 8/31. I was not present, so I have to try to reiterate what I read here, elsewhere and in discussions with a person who was in attendance and who works in the industry (which I do not).

As I understand it the overriding theme of the conference was Rambus now, Rambus in the future. Much time and energy was taken up promoting the STRATEGIC decision to pursue Rambus technology for future needs. Finally, grudgingly, Intel confirmed its decision to "sometime after the first of the year" produce a PC 133 product. Even while doing so, Intel downplayed it as only an interim step to the Rambus ramp and again talked about the long-term needs of the industry and its products. Which is (and as far as I can see, still is in their minds, Rambus).

So, did Intel waiver in its support of Rambus by agreeing with huge pressure to design a PC 133 product? I really don't think so. But, only my opinion. I know others disagree.
