Edwarda, I think you have a good heart, very interesting views and I like you personally (quite a lot, in fact). I admit I have a somewhat different "feel" for this thread, though.
First of all, I think there is a great deal of insulting that goes on here. You don't have to call a person a creep or an idiot or whatever to make it perfectly clear that you are referring to them as a creep or an idiot or whatever. And, I don't think the more sophisticated attacks are any less vicious than their more blunt brethren. I need not remind you or anyone here that some of the worst abuse imaginable is "within the family."
Some of the exchanges here remind me of -- "In reply to my lifelong friend, the honorable congressman and esteemed gentleman from the great State of.....(whom we all know is a sack of lying, cheating scum.....)
And, there are the sincerely kind and generous souls who try to calm the shouting with some version of, "Oh, no, my little darlings, don't cry, Mommy and Daddy don't really hate each other....."
One thing that we COMPLETELY agree on -- Neocon quizzes are usually a treat. OTOH, I wonder if some of the links he posts don't get the clever lads at Langley reaching for the aspirin (what could he have meant by the breast feeding painting?).
I trust the above will not crash and burn, sans smiley.
