RE: <Well now one has to consider your point. Clearly, there have been many many points in development when Intel would have evaluated, tested & demonstrated Rambus technology prior to positioning itself to go forward. Rambus technology with Intel support did not evolve this far by a mistake. Years & years of development would have long ago demonstrated the value in going with Rambus technology or the lack of it. Yes. there is a problem & another delay, likely won't be the last time this sort of thing happens.>

I guess that you don't realize that Direct Rdram has been totally reworked from the Concurrent Rdram which was the Rambus technology at the time that the Intel/Rambus contract was signed. So when Intel decided to go forward they could not have evaluated Direct Rdram at all because it didn't exist. So they were actually betting on the come and expecting that they could work out something really cool.

But they didn't! I know that you can't believe that but eventually it will become obvious. The current problem is actually masking the real truth. The crushing truth will be revealed within a year when most of the PC market abandons Intel chip sets in order to use Sdram/DDR.
