Herc,

I get QCharts Premium. With premium, if you have a news window open, when you click on a chart or quote sheet it brings up the news headlines for that symbol. When you click on a headline, it jumps to the underlying news article.

Regarding End-Of-Day data, it depends on what you mean...

If you mean, "How do you perform technical analysis after the markets close?", then you just use QCharts. It doesn't differentiate between real-time and end-of-day, other than the obvious point that there is no new data being added after the market closes. You just select a symbol and the data comes down. You can perform TA on the data just as you would during the day.

If you mean, "How do you get end-of-day data to use in another analysis program?", there are two (perhaps more) programs that are optimized for downloading QCharts end-of-day data from Quote.com. You can do it manually, but QCharts is not optimized for that. Check the "QFeed" link on the Quote.com site. I think the companies are listed there.

If you mean, "How do you scan for stocks?", QCharts has no scanning capability, except for the Hot Lists. Hot Lists are EXTREMELY useful during the day, but not good for end-of-day scanning. (Check out the "Trade Rate Hot List" and see how many of the stocks are stocks that are currently moving.)

For scanning, I use a program called BigEasy Investor. It's not quite as flexible as Quotes-Plus, but it has many other benefits. It's cheap (free currently), has some very unique features, is very easy to use and can export the data to another program. For instance, you can export a list of stocks from BigEasy and import the list into a QCharts quote sheet. I like BigEasy Investor a lot. Site is: www.bigeasyinvestor.com.

Regards,

Dan.
