I just heard all of this (don't follow big caps much) The way it looks to me is that both arguments are good.. T would use ATHM as an expansion into the online markets because they have no presence there yet..Gotta catch the wave man! Plus, T needs a portal and this kind of new face. they need something to lift the face of boring ole AtT .. come on think about it..phone lines are going to be out of date soon and this Voice over IP will EVENTUALLY rule over tradidtional lines...Watch..why not get in now? AOL will use it to expand it's customer base, have a better portal that peole besides AOL users use..AOL's sucks..EXCITES is good. Plus, think about it..AOL has horrible connections rates as far as busy signals and speed..it's not enough bandwidth mojo! So, they need the bandwith and the appearance..plus, they always got to stay one step aahead and 10billion$ ahead of everybody else to be the leader.. So really both options are legit arguments and would do both companies some good...especiallly AtT!! Heck, maybe AOL will buy out AtT and XCITEATHM..that way, either way you dialup or connect, AOL has gotcha!! LOL Any more speculation? FM
