Pelagianism is only a heresy in your Roman Catholic Church. It is, as you no doubt know, one of the roots of some kinds of Protestantism. Always liked Pelagius a lot. Surely you mean Augustinus instead of Augustus.

As for having nothing to compare to Dred Scott you might consider the Supreme Court rulings authorizing the Army to kidnap and imprison the Japanese-Americans in 1942. You might also consider the capital punishment of children in the US.

I don't believe human rights and civil rights should be balanced against the convenience and tyranny of the police. Who gives a damn if the cops have to camp outside Koresh's pad for the rest of their lives, or that some other madman's stands off the police for several weeks. The police do not have the right to kill children for their convenience.
