On Thursday, October 7, 1999, between 4:20am and 9:30am EDT, UUNET experienced routing instability throughout the North American backbone which may have intermittently affected connectivity to servers located in the Tysons Corner, VA and San Jose, CA UUHost Data Centers. During this period, traffic throughout the UUNET backbone had to be re-routed, which may have resulted in a a [sic] series of brief periods of time during which users may have been unable to access your site. This inability varied throughout North America.
UUNET's redundant network is such that these instances are a rare occurance [sic], though routing problems do occur from time to time. We apologize for any inconvenience to you as a result of this network anomoly [sic]. |
