I expect nothing, Michael. And if you have been assaulted by anyone in the way that, and as repeatedly as, I have been assaulted by Zoltan, you may conclude whatever you think appropriate about those who do it, or who don't disapprove it, or who think you have earned it. (A simple observation, I know.)
I am not puzzled by the ongoing rudeness of Zoltan in any way having to do with my posts, but only in the sense that it is a new phenomenon to me, here or in real life. I always have an interest in the psychopathology of everyday life, and his posts appear to me to be a suitable subject for that interest. I have actually laughed out loud, as in LOL, but literally, at the unrestrainedness of the personal vituperation in which he engages. Don't they appear quite unbalanced to you? Do you know anything about Zoltan's personal life? Does he live and work in the community?
I don't feel that anyone at all spoke "rudely and condescendingly to" me, including that odd visitor, Zoltan. (I exclude him because really both the adverbs are inadequate to the occasion of the wondrous Zoltan!) I certainly take exception to a number of the arguments made; but I am here to make some points, and to have fun arguing, and don't think it would be much fun without lively adversaries.
I just clicked on every one of the links to posts of mine you posted (and I appreciate the effort you went to) and think every single one is entirely acceptable, and some are pretty damned good, IIDSOM! I have already addressed the subject of the point of intellectual exchange, so won't do it again. I indulged in no ad hominem argument that has yet been shown to me. I expressed my strong views strongly. Vehement argument is not a bad thing, except among the politically correct. It is one reason I avoid the politically correct the way I avoid marxists. (The two categories sometimes overlap.) They are boring.
Shall I sift through Zoltan's posts to me and ask for similarly ad hominem attacks from mine to be cited? There are none in the links you posted. The "fairy dust" post was the closest to "personal," and I felt a pang of regret when I reread that one, alone among the group; so while continuing to believe that it was acceptable rhetorical argumentation, I will pay attention to that pang that tells me it might have hurt someone's feelings in a way I didn't intend to, and apologize for that. I am sorry, and wish now I hadn't posted that post.
