E, although "officially asleep," I continue to type away. I don't see how you can refer to millions of Americans as "gullible," "too easily impressed by a nice smile" and "too willing to forgive certain sins" and not expect many of them to feel that you have put them down. I do not believe millions are an abstract entity. I think they are individual people with individual values and opinions. When you note that I am a more complex person than simply a RR fan club member, I am inclined to think; what might that matter? EVERYONE in this country is entitled to an opinion for either the best or worst of reasons. One person - one vote. I get an uncomfortable feeling sometimes that there are those on this thread who might think the country is doomed if we continue allowing the "idiots" and other undesirables to have a say. As always, I look forward to any comment you have but must advise any response from me may be greatly delayed. I need lots of sleep and have a couple of days of work that can't be ignored any longer.
