AIIM '97 Show and Conference to Showcase New Information and Document Management Technologies
Adobe CEO keynote to address convergence of Web content with enterprise information management systems
SILVER SPRING, Maryland, March 18, 1997 -- The Association for Information and Image Management International (AIIM) today announced that its annual Show and Conference will take place April 14-17 at New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
AIIM '97 will focus on major document management trends and issues in the industry's largest forum for information management professionals.
With exhibits from 350 hardware and software vendors, the AIIM '97 Show and Conference is expected to draw approximately 40,000 attendees. The exhibits will showcase a broad cross section of technologies from the industry's largest suppliers of corporate information management systems, including Adobe, FileNet, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, IBM/Lotus, Kodak, Lucent Technologies, Microsoft and Xerox.
On April 15, Dr. John E. Warnock, chairman and CEO of Adobe Systems, Inc., will open the show with the AIIM '97 keynote address. Warnock will discuss the future of Web-based technologies for managing corporate information assets. "By enabling easy, universal access to on-line information, the Web has solved one of the most pressing corporate computing challenges of the last few years. The more urgent problem now becomes not just providing access to information, but managing that information so customers can more effectively collaborate on critical business processes," said Dr. Warnock. "The convergence of the Web with information management systems promises to be one of the most significant trends of the year and the AIIM '97 Conference provides a premier venue to explore this opportunity."
FileNet CEO Ted Smith will present the conference keynote, entitled "The Impact of Emerging Technologies on Document Management," on April 14 . Smith's speech will address the converging of document management, Internet and enterprise information technologies.
AIIM is introducing a new Emerging Technologies Pavilion, which will allow visitors to preview the industry's latest document management, workflow, groupware and Internet technologies. AIIM will also debut Standards At Work, a new exhibit from the AIIM Standards Program that will help corporate information managers understand industry standards initiatives."
