Would you use a free, web-based office suite if it was offered from Yahoo today? Please keep in mind that this web based product would be considerably slower than your desktop word processor unless you were on a broad band connection. There would be some file compatibility with Office but you will have some formatting glitches.

The big advantages would be that you can store your files on the server and you can access them from anywhere and from practically any machine, regardless of the software that is currently on it. All you need is an Internet connection. Consider the suite similar to Yahoo mail or Hotmail.

Please give me a detailed answer as to the reason why or why not.

The reason for the curiosity is that my company has just released a public beta of such as product and I am trying to guage the demand from the grass roots users themselves.
