Has anyone actually confirmed this with military records? It is hard to accept at face value the memories of a man with such a notoriously flexible memory. Most of the sources I've read recount that Reagan's unit was engaged purely in the production of training films. If this unit did in fact "prepare classified films about the progress of the war to be shown to members of the general staff in Washington", that would of course be on record. It seems unlikely, at first glance, that actors involved in putting together training films would be given access to classified material.

Any level of Intelligence clearance would certainly be in his military records, and I don't believe for a minute that he would be handling classified material if he had no such clearance.

Do you think anyone has checked?
