Charley- Discussion of authors...

I think that is a great idea. The only one who I think I have read enough of is Kurt Vonnegut, and I read his stuff a while ago.

I would also like to discuss film directors, but I don't have the background yet. My film viewing and book reading up until now has been undirected, going across many authors and directors.

I would like to have a discussion of authors, but I think directors might be easier because movie viewing is quicker than book reading (at least for me) and we could probably cover more ground with film. I am assuming we are reviewing a director that, at least for me, requires me to watch and review their movies.

Any directors you like or want to discuss?

As an aside, I have started to read the Cliff Notes to the New Testament. I have never read the New Testament, and the Cliff Notes seemed a good way to appreciate and understood this as literature that was written by men with a history and psychology and in a time with governments and value systems that produced this work. Very, very interesting... many of the ideas in the New Testament existed before Christ, and the Cliff Notes help to demystify much of the New Testament. Despite knowing this, I still think the stories have a lot of value as inspiration and hope.

Just my opinion.

Jon :)
