OK, I must admit I was thinking only of the free reign of capitalism that I have read about, primarily in the east coast, with regards to USA circa 1900 and how it was similar to libertarianism. You are correct the racism and imposing religious doctrines of the time were certainly anti-libertarian, if there is such a thing. But I can't see how no schooling for minorities has anything to do with the argument... libertarians are against public institutions like schools...

And with regards to the "steel monopoly"... or any monopoly, again, I see that as the free reign of capitalism which libertarians advocate, and that is one of my problems with it. If free enterprise allowed the creation of a monopoly, then I believe libertarians would say leave it be... tossing out the anti-trust concerns we have today. But maybe some of the libertarians here can comment on that.
