As a mortgage broker, I have an interest (no pun intended) in answering this post....if bond yields drop going into the end of the year, then lock your rates on the day that your indicators give you a bottom signal on yields....I don't know what your time frame for closing the loan may be but I kinda got the impression (reading between the lines) that you might be building a house....that may affect the timing a bit....call around to several lenders the same day you think you are going to lock and get their quotes before you talk to your lender for their quote....PM me if you have questions.
