TMann, your post reminds me of the caveats on all mutual fund prospectuses: past performance should not be taken as an assurance of future performance. I own a little DISH (bought 30 points ago) and a little QCOM (bought about 175 points (one year) ago). Do I wish that I'd put the money parked in Loral these last two years in Q and DISH instead? OF COURSE--I'd be a "Retired Rocket Scientist" if I had.

But the question for investors is risk/reward looking forward, not back. At the current prices of Loral, Dish and the Q, I prefer Loral as offering a reasonable chance of a 3-5 bagger over the next two years with fairly small downside risk. Q & D, though I love them and wouldn't sell them at these prices, seem to me to offer at best the hope of another double in that timeframe, and DISH, at least, has a lot more downside risk than Loral, IMHO.
