Hello James,
<<And definition 2: "despite evidence to the contrary"- -There are clear, unequivocal statements that in the Bible that those then alive would see Christ's return after his death. It's now 2000 years later.
Where is he? This is the grossest case of a blown prophecy I know of.
Twist them as you might, those statements don't go away.>>

50 days after Passover and the death of the Messiah as the atonement for many the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) came into the world just as Jesus said it would. This is a part of the God head and was the answer to the soon presence of God on the earth. The Holy Spirit is still here and will remain until the King of Israel sets up His kingdom in Zion. (I hope Emile is not watching:-() From my understanding of the Bible we are now in the time of God fulfilling a promise to Avraham that all the families of the earth will be blessed through him (Avraham). There are many scriptures to support this Old and New Testament.
Faith is required whither you believe in a Creator or not. Actually it takes more faith to accept that a world so perfectly in order could all just fall together and maintain itself. An entire Forest only leaves about a bucket full of waste per year. Especially, when a big rule in science is the Theory of thermal dynamics says that everything will decay at some point. So which is it, is it decaying? Or is it producing new life from a DNA structure that can not be changed but is according to its kind as said in Genesis?
I enjoy discussing this type of topic and hope you have a blessed weekend,
Nancy
