Interesting thoughts on Xerox, but I don't know if you can call Xerox a gorilla. Seems like they were somewhat of a box maker (though a much bigger box than the pc) with no competition, a la a king. Was there a value chain built around Xerox's product? Were other companies building products that could only work with Xerox's proprietary product?

From the story, it looks like Xerox started off with a royalty game, which is good, but I don't think that qualifies them in the same realm as Cisco or Microsoft.
