Dan;
Who care's what GUMM claim's. The issue is will the scientific community accept their claimes.
I take it the first pass to get "Zicam's scientific study" into the NEJM was rejected. Should GUMM complete another study we are by my calculations 6-8 months away the review and publication in the NEJM.
I should add that I hear QGLY's ad's frequently on WBBM-Chicago for cold-ease. They consistantly advertise that it the only cold treatment to show a reduction in the duration of the common cold in a double blind study. To see what that might do for Zicam and GUMM I refer you to;
quote.yahoo.com
Why would I want to invest in a company that has a market cap of >80mil, record of loosing money, thinly capitalized and who is attempting to "duplicate" what QGLY has accomplished (establishing a presence in the consumers mind for a zinc based cold treatment), a company that has a market cap of 22 mil. QGLY by the way sells at book value and has 14 mil in cash, with no debt......a little bit stronger than GUMM don't you think?
Dan, your being dreamy about GUMM and Zicam. Do you think the average consumer would rather pop lozenges or fiddle around with a bottle of stuff they shoot up their nose and is messy to use.....to get the same percived result.
The one thing GUMM potentially had going for them was this rumored article in NEJM......If that's not going to happen.....put a fork in GUMM cause we will have QGLY and a QGLY wantabe (in GUMM) who's got limited cash and a funky squirt bottle for the narrow segment of consumers that want to shoot something up their nose (and not get high)!
Good luck with your ongoing promotion efforts, you'll need all the help you can get, so will GUMM!
