RDM - Get real Paul. Nobody uses the Intel Reference compiler except Intel. It lacks the libraries and Windows support of Microsoft Visual C++. There are the Watcom and Borland minorities of course.

I'll repeat what I said before. The Intel C/C++ compiler (formally called the Intel Reference Compiler) can act as a plug-in to the MS Visual Studio environment. This means that the Intel compiler can be used only on a few files (e.g. those requiring MMX and SSE code) and use the regular MS compiler for the majority of the app (e.g. Windows interface, etc).

There are MANY software developers doing just this.
