I guess that could be a possibility if there were some way to "invisibly repair" the 3 RIMM system. I put invisibly repair in quotes because maybe there is some way to do it that doesn't require actual modification of the hardware. Let me guess:
1. Require special treatment of the RIMMs before they are inserted such as some form of cleaning the connector so they make better contact.
2. Some software programming that arranges the internal delays to make them more optimum.

That's all I can think of so far for this category of fixes. Of course there are many other 3 RIMM fixes that actually do require real repair like redoing the RIMMs or mobos to have more layers or changing the Rdrams or Camino itself.

Are you alluding to anything specific?
