Rich calm down, whats wrong with a few ifs. better than mgv's sick nonsense, once in while anyway. I was simply musing outloud based on the obvious difficulties with this technology. Who would have thought that almost a year after T and B's announcement their batteries would still not have been sighted, not to mention Sony and the others. This must really be tough stuff, and I'm not totally convinced that VLNC has over come all the hurdles yet either. The whole process to commercialization is certainly much longer than many would have thought. VLNC certainly has made their mistakes: too much effort on cell phone batteries and not enough on their forte (laptop) and that awful Klockner, and the back end problems and not balancing the lines sooner and sort of winging it like everbody else in this field is doing. I hope they make it and I hope it's sooner rather than later but I am just not totally convinced and there is just not enough info out there to say for sure. What has always troubled me is the relationship of Berg to Dawson to the technical folks. Certainly interesting and encouraging that Berg puts his money where is mouth is, but what does Berg really know? What does he want to know? What does Dawson tell him? What do the engineers tell Dawson? What does Dawson tell himself. He is an unusual personality. So is Berg for that matter. I heard that he is so large (6'5 360lb, that can't fit comfortably into a first class seat and doesn't fly much. How many times has he been to NI? Mkt Entr makes some good points: this is really slippery stuff. It is a fabulous story but where and how it is going to end: You, Rich, do not know. (I wish you did), also, don't read too much into the IDB's support. It is politics over there and they have no understanding of the capabilities of the company. If they did, it would have leaked long ago. As John Curtis has oft times said "don't ya just love speculatin" |
